Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came away unscathed from an assassination attempt after a grenade was thrown at his convoy in the western city of Hamadan.
The grenade exploded near a vehicle of journalists accompanying the presidential convoy, minutes before the Iranian president was to address a crowd, Al Arabiya and a conservative Web site Khabar online said.
According to the reports the Iranian president gave his speech which was broadcast live on state television.
